I get about 8.2 l/100 km around the houses. The cost of premium and diesel are around the same. Service intervals are the same I think. I haven't noticed anything special about the diesel services price wise, my local mechanic does mine. You will pay around $7 more per 100 km on petrol at $1.50 a litre, so $6000-$7000 more over 100,000 kms. I've already done 130,000 kms so about $10,000 in front? Not only that I love the motor especially off road. No matter, each to their own |

one major difference in diesel vs petrol servicing is that the diesel requires a cam belt change, and the petrol doesn't (it runs a timing chain). But the diesel cam belt has a barely believeable 240,000km service interval! |

This seems to be the cheapest MY11 available, and it's pretty well priced!

This car looks good (apart from the shiny black surrounding the sat nav!) but I'm not sure what features you miss compared to an HSE for example.

I paid $40k drive away for a ex demo MY11 TD4e with 1200 k's on the clock from the dealer, so I think you could push this guy down in price (like AiiEEx said about 38K). The shiny black sat nav surround is common now with garmin fitted models. And by looking at the photos that looks like downtown North Hobart. |

I can't understand why LR didn't match the surround to the rest of the dash |

Well it looks like that one in Tassie was sold. But it's good to know what sort of price I should be looking at. Thanks for the heads up on the current sale - I'm going to go visit the local dealer and see what they're willing to do. But I would take some serious convincing (ie. a can't say no price) to buy brand new. |

also, I haven't been looking at the manuals because I think the automatic would be better offroad, given that the FL2 doesn't have low range. Would you guys agree? |

I have the manual, but I'm old school never been a fan of auto's (too easy to drive and they remove all the fun) but most here settle for the auto |

I bought an Auto under protest because I really wanted the SD4 with the extra kilowasps. Having now taken it to many extreme places, I'd be reluctant to go back to a manual as there's no way I could drive a 4WD that effectively. ie: changing gears at the right time, being able to stop anytime, being able to ride the clutch on downhill slopes etc. The technology is quite incredible and I'm definitely converted. |

can anyone tell me which models come with bluetooth for hands free calls? When I search carsales and include the keyword 'bluetooth' all I get is older HSE models and 2011+ models.

Hi Orbitor, My 2009 SE certainly doesn't have Bluetooth, but the retrofit - and now fitted by Land Rover Australia to most models - Garmin 1490t is bluetooth enabled and you can link your phone to that pretty easily.
