Thanks for the link.

The inside looks promising, though it looks like we may have lost that nice big phone key pad.

United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Biscay Blue

The exterior shots of the white one do not look much, if any, different from the current model apart from what appears to be a lower body kit. The blue one on the transporter does not appear to have any such kit. Is this just another minor facelift prior to a new model coming out? 2010 HSE TD4 auto, Biscay Blue, Almond Leather, facelift front and rear, detachable towbar, front & rear mudflaps, bib spoilers, clear high level brake light, smooth rear wiper, colour coded door handles.

Thanks for the link G.

Is there just me who thought the changes would be a bit more radical? I thought the exterior would be a lot different to the current one. 59 TD4e XS in galway green

Nice one Thumbs Up

Looks like the updated D4 dash switches, and steering wheel too

My guess is phone buttons will e on the LCD and with that it will have the better functions like the MY2012 RRS/D4 do and hopefully the reversing cameras too

It wouldnt surprise me if this was an early attempt and prototype at fitting the later BCM, as fitted to the other vehicles in the LR range. The over riding factor is incorporating the BCM, then the cosmetics will be over hauled.
The interior needs more of an upgrade than is shown, hopefully, the layout will recieve much more attention as time moves on. A more integrated, sweeping dash, as in the Evoque, would be a benefit.

Then again somewhere to stick my sunglasses would be as well Rolling Eyes

i don't think they will bring the Freelanders interior to the same level as the Range Rover Evoque, purley due to the fact ones a LR and the other is the more upmarket RR brand

I think what you see, is what you'll get, or there abouts, but a downmarket infotainment system compared to the others, possible some things will be there as a upgrade etc

Might tempt me back from RRS Thumbs Up

Always felt dash let down an otherwise fantastic LR Cool Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Still hoping for a S2 one day!

If the difference is just to add chintzy lights, a bigger gimmicky Halfords special bodykit, and to remove the radio buttons and put them on the screen then this update is going to be woefully undermiming. Bet it gets the 8 speed never-know-what-gear-to-be-in transmission from the XF that has the same engine. Unless they bring the emissions down significantly on the engine and the interior materials are upgraded (which I don't feel they need) I think it's a waste of time! Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35

United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Bali Blue

To me the dash looks like a prototype as it looks Censored , i mean the blank piece between the CD slot and upper dials is awful, the satnav surround looks cheap and nasty and the bottom set of dials (as fitted to existing FL2's) do not match the top set.

Seeing as though the satnav screen will now be displaying information such as radio stations, telephone etc etc i was hoping it would be bigger than it currently is.

Lets hope that it is simply a mule for testing out new components and that the interior gets the overhaul the FL2 so really needs. The outside is fine, the drivetrain is fine but the interior has fallen way out of league of the competitors.

looking at those pictures, there is a green wire sticking out of the screen?

I would expect to see a larger screen there, possibly a horizontal vent rather than the verticasl ones. The TR control also appears to be a cubby hole?

Looks like a pucker build to me, the only disguise is on the front/rear lamps and fascia. No point in disguising something that's not going to change.
I would expect testing on a new BCM to be carried out in house at Gaydon and any running vehicles to be current model so as not to draw attention.

And we all know where you can stick your sunglasses Rolling with laughter Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

Im not convinced, the screen on the Mule appears to be narrower than the existing one, it just looks odd.
