I pay less than £60 for tivo, extra v+, anytime landline, voicemail, caller ID, 60M BB, XL tv - do you have films or sports channels as add ons?

There's nothing complicated with adding a super hub to your system you don't need a visit as the instructions supplied are quite simple.

What's TIVO and extra V+ ?

Does that £60 include your line rental? If so, I feel a call to Virgin coming on. As your bundle is almost identical to mine except I only have 30Mb BB and am paying more! 09 FL2 Santorini Black GS - Privacy glass, enormous fixed towbar!
57 FL2 Stornoway Grey HSE - Privacy glass - gone

TIVO is the new set top box which has 3 tuners and a hard drive. Allows you to record 2 programmes at the same time and watch a 3rd (or record it). It also connects to the internet. A great box. V+ is the old set top box with a hard drive but only two tuners (watch one and record a different one). When the TIVO was installed virgin allowed me to keep the V+ box for another room.

England 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 XS Auto Zermatt Silver

The husband of the wifes best mate runs his own business and moans that his BT Business broadband rarely peaks 6Mb. He has just forked out £600k for a new house in the country and I have just had to point out to him what living over 5Km from his exchange is going to mean.

Not a happy bunny, perhaps he should have done his research. I could have told him the exchange maxes out at 8Mb, no SDSL, nuthin Big Cry Rolling with laughter Prog rock is cool! Smile

Whats more important though? In all fairness I moan about my pitiful broadband speed but I still manage to work from home with no problems 3 or 4 days per week! Reality is unless you are downloading loads of heavy content between 2 and 8 Mbps is more than enough.

And I get to live in the country Thumbs Up Freelander 2 TD4 Auto, SE, Narvik Black, Alpaca full leather, Rear Headrest Entertainment System, 6 CD, 18 HSE Wheels, Privicy tints

I apologise to those already in the know, I am merely trying to provide some assistance in case anything here is new, I know you can all use Wikipedia as well as me.

There are several variants of ADSL around, the old basic one , 2 and 2+, with sub categories in there as well. It is worth checking what your exchange supports, and what your modem supports. Each variant manages to squeeze more out of the line. In addition I do recommend getting an i-plate if you don't have one.

If you can reduce the quantity of copper in your house prior to filtering, this sometimes can make a difference - i.e. extend all your house phones from one point after the filter. It isn't always easy or practical to do so, so only bother if convenient. I have seen a downstream improvement, albeit it was an extreme case, of over 8Mbit/s. (That Wireman didn't live that one down for quite some time, very poor jumpering)

Apologies if I am teaching people to suck eggs
