No cable in our village. I get 6.5mb with BT at present (exchange about 250m away). Plan to move to Plusnet at end of contract in July. No increase in speed (as it's through the BT exchange) but better value. 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

Surprised you hadn't heard of this scheme it's been well publicised for months now. I'm on 60m BB from Virgin. Although the 'double your speed' programme has not got to Norwich yet after speaking to them about their new packages I got enhanced phone, upgrade from 30 to 60 Mb and a reduced monthly fee.

4G will be mega money and the providers will be behind it anyway, the losers will be the man on the street who thinks he needs those speeds and pays for it. |

I am being upgraded to 60mb in June but need an engineers visit for an uprated modem/router. I hope to move home a few weeks later so will need to go through the same performance. I also like Virgin media but would like to ditch the TV package.....wonder what it will cost me then? Currently £85 to £90 a month inc land line..... JT Upgraded to an ex demo, 7 mth old, Rimini Red/Ebony Napoli Auto HSE on 28th Jan 2011, added roof rails, mudflaps and side strips.

RichardK, no extras and minimal phone calls..... I have been with them a long time so may be on an outdated package. I will check but last time I phoned I spoke to an agent who could not understand me/me him due to language (somewhere in Mumbai?) Upgraded to an ex demo, 7 mth old, Rimini Red/Ebony Napoli Auto HSE on 28th Jan 2011, added roof rails, mudflaps and side strips.

Have you no consideration for us country folk . I live about 20 miles from B'ham city centre and I just manage 2mb on a good day. You cant much more than surf the net with that speed. I have to laugh though - I keep getting all this junk mail from BT about Infinity etc - what a joke. Until BT can doing something about the overhead copper cables my internet isnt going any faster. |
