I think I can understand why they tried to get into the sunroof.
If the car alarm system was armed from the first press of the remote fob, the doors, bonnet and tailgate are armed but not the volumetric sensor. Therefore entry through the sunroof would not activate the sounder. I don't know, but I assume it's easier to climb in through the sunroof than a side window Question . Maybe they didn't realise how tough the glass is.

The thieving Censored often target vehicles in this way with a dog guard as the owner often forgets to double lock when no pets are in the vehicle.

Sorry this has happened to you, I'd be seething. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

Sometimes thieves will smash the window and reach in to open the glove box to see if there is anything in there. One tip I read years ago was to empty the glove box and leave it open. Therefore, when Mr T.Hief comes along, he can see that it is empty and won't waste his time.

That was I was thinking pegleg maybe there is a flaw in the cars security system that we don't know about ?
