Shocked

they tried to break in via the rear bonded glass roof?

Are you sure the glass cover excludes roof glass? bearing in mine its just a roof window, and not the sunroof section?

Thats the problem, you cant do it nowadays.
In the good old days you probably could of, and if you were in Iraq you could cut their arms off, here nothing.
Of course you now realise if the culprits are found dead, you will the first on the list to get the blame. Rolling Eyes

Seems an odd place to try and break in, they have been known to just pop.

It's worth trying to put a claim in as broken glass. If accepted on that basis, your excess to pay will be around £60/£70 and it won't normally affect your no claims bonus. Just ring them up and say "I have a claim for a broken glass sunroof." There might be a limit though so success not guaranteed. 2013 RR Evoque Pure Tech

What's amazing is that there is no damage to the roof itself, given that the little Censored must have been trampling all over it. garioch43

Privacy glass does a pretty good job of hiding the screens - otherwise no I don't cover them.

Bad news indeed, sorry to hear about it. Definately claim under your glass policy unless there are any exclusions.

Seems very odd for someone to try to break in via a thick bonded glass panel on the roof as opposed to a thinner, smaller side window. Definately not a case of someone dropping something on it?

Hope you get it sorted cheaply.

If its any consolation, one of my best customers who I have been supplying cars for years to (and has 2x FL2 HSE's) had the panoramic roof of his 3 day old Evoque (that he gave me a deposit for when the LRX was revealed c2005) smashed. He was having scaffolding taken down at his house and was asked to move the Evoque 'to be on the safe side'. In the time it took him to put his shoes on then one of the scaffolders had shimmied up but a wrench fell out of his pocket. It bounced off a few things before entering the Evoque via the roof.

He, like yourself was not a happy bunny!

James Thumbs Up

Out of interest, is there any lever marks were they put the screw driver in to pry the window Question

It takes quite a bit of force, they they used that method on a FL1 side window I had it bent the rubber window surround

I ask as I'm wondering if it was a stress fracture and cracked due to been incorrectly fitted?

Was it damaged in anyway when the roof bars were fitted?

Work asking for LR opinion if your in warranty, it just doesn't add up to say why they would try that area to break in, unless they were running along the roofs, is there foot prints on the bonnet etc
