2009 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Zermatt Silver
Drink Driving & Insurance...

I had a customer stop round this morning with his new SD4 Freelander...very nice.
He wanted his company name in vinly on both front doors.

He was telling me that he had got the FL2 last week and he got his driving liecence
returned a couple of months ago, he got a 2 year ban for drink driving.

He then told me how much for a years insurance.....wait for it.......£4200... Rolling with laughter
What a tw*t....and I think £320 is bad...

Wouldn't it be great if the insurance company could get away with writing to him and saying "Dear Sir, please find attached your quote that reflects your drink driving charge. Chew on that mother fu Censored er!" LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

I presume the extra premium goes straight into the insurance company coffers, or does it go into a pool fund to help those who were the victims of drunk drivers? 09 FL2 HSE auto Lago Grey

"does it go into a pool fund to help those who were the victims of drunk drivers?"

If only Whistle

No-one gives a damn about victims these days, everything's set up to mollycoddly the poor old perpetrators.

As for an insurance company giving anything away................. Rolling with laughter That's about as likely as finding an honest politician, customer-orientated supermarket or a non-greedy bank.

Remember, we're all in it together - at least if you've less than a million in the bank. Ours - 2008 Stornoway Grey HSE Auto

ban em for life i say Evil or Very Mad but offenders would go to the European courts and say this sentence is against there human rights but what i would like to see is that when they get there licence back part of getting it back is that they attend an alcohol awareness program and must do so for the next two years and if found to be taking alcohol again
and instant longer ban imposed. also the size of vehicle should not exceed 1000cc for two years. Thumbs Up rainy-city

To play devil's advocate here, the money is charged as a reflection of the greatly increased risk that the driver now represents, having now proven that they can't leave the booze alone when they're driving.

We'd have every reason to be hacked off if that increased risk were to be spread amongst everyone else's (our) premiums Censored
