question on HDC

HI,
After seeing several posts about using the terrain response programme in heavy traffic to make the car drive smoother, I tried this yesterday.
I did notice something strange however -when I engaged the mud + ruts programme (that enables HDC) and I started driving forward, the HDC would kick in at about 10MPH on a straight road?? The road was bone dry, there was no loss of traction at all, it just seemed the HDC was kicking in at random!
Anyone else experience this?:

The HDC is the Hill Descent Controll and will kick in at slow speeds, even on the flat. (it does in my car anyway) the HDC will turn off once the car is over a certain speed and then automatical come back on in the MUD TR setting Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I tried grass, gravel, snow mode on the M6 this morning in slow traffic and it did make crawling along easier. The only snag was when the jam suddenly cleared and i floored the throttle, it didn't accelerate very quickly. Cancelling TR quickly restored normal acceleration.

When I mean the HDS was kicking in, I mean that it was active in applying the breaks in the usual HDS "judder" manner when driving. It seemed strange that it was being used when I was driving no more than 10MPH on a straight road with perfect traction!!

I have the "on the flat" judder too

HDC is designed to slow the car going down hill, so i presume it must work on the flat at slower speeds aswell

I have noticed it do exactly the same, i would have thought it should now when to work or not

The conditions have no bearing on the HDC, it works on smooth or rough, and apparentley hills or flat roads too Rolling Eyes Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
