Mine is fine on minimal sensitivity. Maybe the screen in front of your sensor is dirty....give it good clean with glass cleaner. John

I would happily pay to get rid of the auto function and have a decent intermittent function. My auto wipe appeared totally random and the sensitivity had no bearing on wipe frequency. However, my wiper motor destroyed itself last week. Now it has been replaced, the auto function seems to be working better so fingers crossed the sensitivity setting may now relate to the speed in some way !! I removed fuse F1 in the passenger side fuse box. Wipers now function under my control. 2007 TD4 SE Manual Santrini Black |

Sounds interesting ! So what happens to the wipers when you select the setting that was previously auto ?? Does adjusting the sensiitvity setting have any affect in this position ?? FL2 HSE Auto Galway Green Evoque SD4 Auto Blue. FL1 HSE TD4 Manual Black - Gone. RR Classic V8 EFI - Gone |

The wipers work as they would on any car without rain sensing. Rotating the end of the wiper stalk increases or decreases the frequency of wiper sweep, the same as normal intermittent wipers. 2007 TD4 SE Manual Santrini Black |

I should also say that the slow and fast speeds are unaffected and work normally. With the fuse removed the rain sensor is disabled so when auto is selected you only have variable intermit at a speed selected by you. 2007 TD4 SE Manual Santrini Black |

Peasemold -that is such useful info - thanks a lot. The wretched auto wipers, even when they just work, sometimes give a 'hiccup' wipe in the dry, without warning, and smear everything up. I feel the same about auto lights - but at least you dont lose functionslity by having them..
