Israel 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Zermatt Silver
Noisy wipers

Due to excessive use of wipers during this drought they have developed a knocking noise when wiping. Anyone else had this? It has new blades fitted so not them. Does sound like mechanism too me

mine did that with rainx on the screen stopped when the rainx wore off At work

YES! I have that exactly same problem! But I never could see anything wrong with the mechanism either... :/ It's never too late to learn something new...

Mine were noisy after a service, could probably describe it as knocking. Took the car in where they 'adjusted' them and all has been fine since - no idea what they did though.

Might be no joke, knew someone that bought a Capri brand new and it had a wind noise problem from the drivers door, diagnosis was the door was twisted, cure, plank of wood in the door opening and slam the door shut, twist adjusted, job done!

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but better than starting a new one...

Just wondering if anyone knows the fix to this? I have this problem with my drivers side wiper.

Have replaced the blades and also the wiper arm as was having issues with juddering.

New arm fixed the juddering but have a knock noise when the wiper changes direction. Freelander 2, 2014 Dynamic SD4 Santorini Black

Vinegar.

Pour some Sarsons vinegar (or whatever other brand comes to hand) onto a rag.
Wipe vinegared rag vigorously onto your windscreen first.
Then douse the rag in yet more vinegar and rub it onto your wiper blades.

If this doesn't work, pour vinegar into a bucket. Add one 8lb hammer. Whack various moving parts of wiper mechanism with it until you feel satisfied, then go and buy some new wiper blades. Whistle Whereabouts unknown stop going to follow stream until reach civilisation stop message ends
