The Summer Freel2 Photo Competition

After the terrible winter we had in the UK, I thought what better to kick off the up coming summer with another photo Competition Very Happy

The Summer Freel2 Photo Competition can kick off ,  its open to members of Freel2 and all it involves is taking a picture of your car in a sunrise or sunset situation Thumbs Up

Whether that's parked up on the highest green lane with the sun setting down the dale,  in the works car park at the crack of dawn with the early morning rays casting their shadows in the morning dew. The setting is up to you, so let your imaginations run free!!!!

All photos must be your own work, taken showing your own car, with either a sun set or rise within the photo, that could be in the back ground or been reflected upon a  area of the photo, such as a body panel, or what ever reflects it for those artistic photographers out there

Photoshopped photos will not be allowed, unless its correcting colour levels, editing registrations out or making it B&W.

Please use this thread to post as many pictures as you wish, discuss and chat ISO, lenses and all stuff relating to the competition and your iPhones camera app or professional cannon cameras settings

We will then decide (as a forum group) how many photos per entrants can be put forward nearer the end of the competition depending quality and quantity added in this thread.

It's not all about professional quality photos, it's capturing that moment in the day that gives the photo a edge above others.

No matter were in the world you are, if you have sun you have a chance to be crowned winner, So let the shutters see the sun and start snapping away  Thumbs Up

You have until the end of September 2012, when a seperate judging thread will be opened

Have fun, site administrations decision is final Wink

Mr Pinks
Would it be possible to close the competition at the end of October? Personally I find that autumn sunsets (and sunrises) are more dramatic than mid-summer ones.

(As an aside to seasonal matters, last Tuesday evening we had 24cms of fresh snowfall and mid summer's night is only 57 days away before we then run head strong into full-on winter again. One local doctor couldn't get his car (Ford Explorer) up to a patient on the Urnerboden at 6,200ft a.s.l. (mountain pass still closed to through traffic) as he had switched his tyres to summer one's already. He asked K if she could do the home visit otherwise it would have been a heli call out. I'm pleased to report that her FL2 had no problems reaching the farmer and bringing her and some delicious goat's cheese back down safely)

The forum group can decide on the closing date, personally I think it's going to mean it running a little too long

But if they are ok then I can change the op Thumbs Up

I'm no photographer, but I did ask my daughter if she'd enter but she said no - she just wasn't interested. But, having seen that this concept looks like being a permanent feature of FreeL2 I may just grab a little point n shot camera off the ladies and try my hand at snapping some sunsets, as I do find that time of the day most endearing, especially in the autumn.

It would make the competition a little extended, I'd prefer keeping it to the 'Summer' and perhaps hold a competition for each season as there seems to be keen interest for it.

I also think with it been sunset/rise, things like HDR should be allowed as many point and shoot cameras don't like the sun and you can't filter it a little to bring out the contrast in the clouds etc

With my iphone its HDR setting comes out better if your hold it stead on something solid

Hey Chaps - these latest posts are getting far too technical for me - and as for sunglasses - I lost mine in the sea off Gozo last summer. So that just about puts the cowbosh on my participation in the autumn's competition. Sad
