First time in over 20 years I have bought the same car, but just couldn't resist another Freelander. Now, I am going to blame all of you if the Auto box and SD4 engine is anything but lovely!!!!

Good for you, the SD4 engine has good mid to top range power and I find the Auto box nice but then I'm biased and it is my only ever experience of an Auto.
Over 12 months on and still enjoying the drive, I think you will like it

I've had BMWs for years. Bought my SD4 GS last April and never looked back. I testdrove the new X3 and found it boring. The SD4 is still a car I really enjoy driving. Well done - good choice! ...

I'm a sucker for getting to like a car and then buying another one just like it Usually pausing only to try and get a slightly nicer one than the last time

The sequence normally continues until the manufacturer then completely screws up with the replacement car - then it's time to look all over again (In my case: early Montego estate Vs late Montego estate, Citroen XM Vs Citroen C5, Volvo V70 Mk 2 Vs V70 Mk 3).

The SD4 is absolutely fine and the auto isn't bad either; I'm just not a fan of automatics myself, but that's just down to personal preference...

Hope you enjoy the SD4 as much as I do , had a 2009 td4 xs auto Great car ,
saw the chrome arse piece (and the 190bhp.!) and that was it, 1600 miles in less than a month
which is a lot for me still trying for 45mpg though ... Wales
Were the mud is thicker, and the ruts are deeper.
(And we have the water to wash it off, and more on the way..! )

The SD4 did feel nice on the test drive and it was good to be in an auto again.

Almost!!! When I refitted them to this one, the rear bolts bent and wouldn't tighten. They are now in disgrace living in the garage loft.
