Used cars - where best to look?

HI,
as on other thread I am looking to swap my Xtype 2.5 estate for either an early FFRR or later F2, think we have ruled the XF out. Where is the best place to look for a good used example. We went to Sturges and they seemed a bit overpriced but then you do get a good 1 year warranty etc... we are going up to available car to have a look at a few... cheers
Rich

United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Auto Zermatt Silver

Hi, the used car search on the Land Rover website is a good tool, you can specify what you want and get all the national pricing. remember the prices are what the delaer would like, Spring/Summer should be a good time to buy a 4x4. 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

2016 Subaru Outback SE 2.0 diesel SE Premium Lineartronic Sold 2024 after 8 years and 80k miles . Best Car I ever owned !

Land roverpproved used is a good start - remember these will be mostly late low milers with LR warranty so may price you out a little.

The trader is Always a good place to look. Lots of private and dealer examples and probably covers most cars. Failing that speak to some specialist 4x4 dealers.. Saxton 4x4 is one but again they are quite pricey

Good luck Thumbs Up Freelander 2 TD4 Auto, SE, Narvik Black, Alpaca full leather, Rear Headrest Entertainment System, 6 CD, 18 HSE Wheels, Privicy tints

went to available car to get a test drive. drove a 2008 HSE manual - was very surprised - drove great, handled well and had a bit of poke...

think the xf is off the table and this is definitely on, mu only worry is the fact we only do 10 miles each way and a few more at the weekends and don't want to have issues with the diesel..

just need to drive a FFRR now... cheers

2008 doesnt have a DPF so I doubt you will have a problem with that. Our 2007 diesel gets used on lots of short runs (less than 5 miles) and the occasional long run and so far (touch wood) no problems!!

Like you I wanted a petrol but obviously is not as available and the diesel makes more sense (better residual, more mpg etc)

Good luck in your search - id be interested to hear what you think of the FFRR - a bit different from the FL Freelander 2 TD4 Auto, SE, Narvik Black, Alpaca full leather, Rear Headrest Entertainment System, 6 CD, 18 HSE Wheels, Privicy tints

Given your location, I'd have a look at Marshalls in Bedford. When I bought mine (admittedly a couple of years ago) they seemed to be cheaper than the other dealers.

we went to see one local at the bottom of the budget - it was pouring with rain and it looked very used...

we have discussed it tonight and we think that the F2 will be the best fit to replace the X Type... we just need to decide on budget and spec... and colour etc..

still want to drive an FFRR though and I still want a V8 - which will probably be to replace the D2 TD5 when that dies.. cheers

Ditto CWorm Thumbs Up - Our March 2008 car has no DPF and only does regular super short journeys, and then a long run pulling 1500kg (don't take long to think about that CG Laughing ) we've had one issue of turbo overboost which was a LR known fix 2-3years ago warranty covered) but other than that no problems, put proper diesel in it (for that 'read not supermarket cr&p') and you'll be fine.
Can't comment on the FFRR but for sure (like the RRS) will be bigger and sound better.....

I want to drive a FFRR but I think we are 95% set on an F2. We don't use the X as I fell out of love with it and it seems 'too good' to use everyday... The F2 seems better in most ways and I think we'd use it as the #1 car over the D2 ... cheers

Scotland 2009 Freelander 2 TD4_e HSE Manual Lago Grey

my only recommendation is that you buy from a Landrover dealer with a good warranty/service history/etc

2008 Freelander 2 TD4 S Manual Santorini Black

just traded in my well loved 08 Plate FL2 S 2.2 Santorini Black with Duckworths Boston on Saturday.
40k miles, FSH and a few extras (e.g. cruise control, rear PDC) bringing it nearly up to GS spec
I imagine the price will be quite decent, and LR warranty of course.

does 33mpg town driving 36-37 on the motorways.

Reliable car never had a problem in the 3yrs+, got me through some scary snow drifts out where we live (i.e over the height of the car)

hence why for the first time ever I bought the samer car again (on a newer plate)

What about sponsors Lookers Park Royal? Been a Jag dealer also might help with trade in prices?
