Tigger - I like your number plate.

Q: Does the last "R" (FLR) give a hint to the fact that you have under the bonnet one of the parent company's purring cat "R" engines. Now that would make for an entertaining FL2rrrrrrrrrr Very Happy

Thanks.

It was only ever meant to be the closest I could get to an abbreviation of "FreeLandeR" and the "2" was quite nice Very Happy I'd happily swap it for "B4 MUD" though Wink

I saw a FFRR a couple of days ago, the reg was 800, slightly square type letters and it looked like BOO.
My kids keep telling me I need a plate as all "4x4"s have them Rolling Eyes

Nice. I have seen some "MUD" registrations on Defenders and it looks right.

I am not a big fan of personalised plates that have been messed about to look like something they shouldn't. I have never bought a plate but my wife bought mine as a surprise 50th present and I must say I have come to like it...just looks neat and tidy. I have had it on three land rovers now. The motto under the reg is because my mates say the Freelander is just another in the ongoing story of my "toys".

I wanted a little writing on some plates but Halfords refused saying 'not allowed' Mad The cops would have to be particularly fussy to complain at that.

EY use "Craigsplates" on line, there is an option for "show" plates you can have what you want then, if the cops complain then refer them to the European Court of Rights, looks like you can do what the hell you want when they get involved Rolling Eyes

Dunroof, you have matching plates I recall, I wont say what they are as you don't publicise them, but as you once said, look smart when out together.

My father has had various plates over the years (eons) ago and let them all go, parents Rolling Eyes

I got my plates from a place that refuses to do "illegal" plates. The correct BS number and name of the maker is in 2mm font (quite legal) at the bottom right of the plate. As for mottos/logos, just look around at the number of cars which have "Jones car sales" or whatever name under the number....I am certain it is not illegal. If it has to be the name of a legitimate motor trade organisation I will register "To Infinity and Beyond" as a garage business. Very Happy Very Happy John

Laughing that would make him throw up his morning cornflakes

Truth is my rear plate has the holes drilled for fixings and the plate is 'crazing' away from the holes so I thought I would self adhere some new ones. At the bottom where JST has his motto I was thinking of 'FREEL2.COM'

Like so

ring these guys and ask for "showplates" http://www.rushdengraphicsuk.com/ I get my bike plates from them (I'm Censored if I will have a number plate the size a teatray on a bike that has the nicest rear end since Kylie.)

I will be getting a set for the Freel when we get to the 12 month anniversary of the defender being stolen and we can use the private plate again. it will read ( there will be no spaces) B4*** which is our surname. in 15 years since I bought it never been stopped with that spacing and no plate manufacturers logo 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership
