Does anyone have any experience with rock sliders for the freelander 2 / LR2? I haven't been able to find anyone selling them.

Hi, I would scap the side step idea. They are fitted on brackets which will not take the weight....and bend! JT Upgraded to an ex demo, 7 mth old, Rimini Red/Ebony Napoli Auto HSE on 28th Jan 2011, added roof rails, mudflaps and side strips.

side tubes do protect somewhat, but they quickly get dinted and scratched then a little bit bent |

Not sturdy at all, I have two sets one for off road and one for best, and a spare set of brackets to replace the ones which bent

I found a good price for the side tubes so I just went ahead and bought them. I figure I'll replace them once they're trashed, but by seeing their failure points they'll give me a good idea of what I should fabricate myself.

Ah well they may be not sturdy ( I have swallowed humble pie on that one) but I think they look nice when new. Show us some pictures when fitted and how they stand up to the punishment, all good information for the forum! |

Off-roaded last weekend with the side steps and destroyed them. They really didn't do much to protect the body unfortunately. They crumpled up and actually caused a few of the plastic side moldings to pop off.
