Towing mirrors and anything for a quiet life.....

....... ok, shes on one again.
The £6 a pair strap-ons that were good enough for the Galaxy are now, apparently, not good enough for my FL2.
So we have to spend copious amounts on trendy mirrors just so we look posh!
Just to give you an idea of what Im dealing with - Im in my fifties, I have to wear trendy hoodies, trainers, up to date jeans ( although I have drawn the line at those halfway-down-your-arse ones and pull-up Y Fronts!).
Im sick of seeing a barber (sorry darling, I meant "Hairdresser") and Ive more razors than Wilkinsons (how bloody much?????).
Ive never seen ironed socks before and I always thought the dog was black ( it got scrubbed up and turned brown!).
Anyway, what was I on about? Oh yes, so whats the bestist mirrors for the FL2?

Tell her that if you keep the existing mirrors, the money saved can be put towards an Evoque for your next car. She'll like that. Mr. Green 2013 RR Evoque Pure Tech

I've just changed from the Milenco Aero to the Grand Aero and towed with them for the first time over Easter. I bought just the new mirrors themselves and used the same arms as they are interchangeable.

I found the Grand Aeros are much better for visibility and better suit the FL2 mirrors too Very Happy GONE - 2011/11 Freelander 2 SD4 XS Auto

As advised in another thread on here, if you have a pre MY10 model, the mirrors mount on to the Freely mirrors even better if you bend the mirror arm slightly to follow the contour of the top of the Freely mirrors, (I used an old piece of cast iron downpipe to do mine) this enables you to fix them to the top of the Freely mirrors and you can allow the mirrors to fold as normal and they won't foul the doors. Thumbs Up

Couldn't get the strap on to fit securely because of the shape of the mirror back on a Freelander 2. I have been looking for other options than the Milenco but nothing available to suit

Perhaps LR should sell something tailored to fit and charge a fortune for it. Prog rock is cool! Smile

The Milenco's that I have no longer have a strap, they rely on two clamps for each mirror Thumbs Up
