I have an 06 FL2 and would like to know whether its possible for the electrics to be modified to automatically start the engine when the battery in an attached caravan gets low?

I believe the later model can do this...but maybe somebody out there knows better?

I suspect (hope) you are wrong.
If this were to happen you would have to leave the fob in the ignition slot.
Some oik would then be able to nick your car and you couldn't claim on your insurance as you had left the vehicle unattended with the keys inside.

Either that or the fob security can be byepassed  Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

"Auto disconnect the van" is this a caravan attribute or a FL attribute? I don't have a van yet and my knoweldge of the FL can be described as rudimentary at best...

I really could do with a guide as to all of the features of my FL. The owners manual that was supplied was too generic and had lots of features which weren't included in my more basic model. It did a good job of telling me what the knobs and dials are for but not how they can benefit me or when or how they should be used.

I recently went on a LR Experience day where they demonstrated HDC - great it works in my manual version fine. But I have absolutley no idea how to use the Hill Start Assist, which should be on my FL - according to the instructor.

Is there a guide available that is model specific?

try new 'caravan assist', explosive bolts detach the towbar as soon as you try and tow a caravan, saves time, fuel and stress, Also the sat nav automatically finds you holiday cottages near your chosen holiday area. At work

I never really got the GRC to work despite a few attempts on slopes, it shouldbe set to work all the time not just on demand. At work

there can also be issues with auto starting on manuals if left in gear!!
i remember a few years ago when aftermarket alarms had remote start on them, i've seen a couple of cars jump into brick walls while trying to start in gear!! leaving the owners standing in the distance with key fob in hand looking slightly embarrassed!
