I've heard this but just forgotten to mention it to the dealer, although mine's when on full lock, accelerating or not. Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35

Had it confirmed from dealer today that it is indeed a rear diff part wear/beginning to fail.

High Andy, what happened with that rear diff? Did it cured itself or the dealer replaced it for you? Best regards LASPAE LAS in acnient Greek language means rock, earth, land (the first word of our car' name) PAE in Greek means goes or rovering (the second word of our cars' name) |

Mine was repaired last week. They replaced the main input shaft bearings (or whatever they're called). My car was just making a general droning sound when driving. I hadn't noticed the noise when turning. LR have released a repair package, which cost £460.00 at the dealers. I asked for a contribution from LR and they agreed to contribute 1/3rd. The diff is lovely and quiet now Gone - TD4 XS Auto, Sumatra Black, Mud flaps and side strips, clear indicators, private plate, privacy glass |
