I have bought the badges from lrdoc on ebay for the side pillars, they are the exact same size but aren't a sticker that goes over the top, they are about 2-3mm thick but semi flexible so the old badges will need removing.

Might have to try the main dealer for the front and rear badges mind with the part number above. All the main dealers I have spoken to said that these will not fot as the Freelander 2 is much bigger.

Is the front badge adhered on or dose this also have two locating pins?

Sorry Lee, never changed the front badge as I had a nose job instead (2011 MY front).

Again, the badges are the same size Thumbs Up but I seem to remember something about the wording on the back of the car 'Freelander 2 TD4 HSE' etc is a slightly different colour (Slightly darker grey) and size on the facelift - maybe this is what your dealer is refering to...

I was thinking about getting a 2011 facelift but then thought if I was going to spend the money I should maybe get the bumper that Startec sell with the LED lights on.

I've then decided against that and I'm now looking at fitting a single stainless steel bumper protection bar across the front ( not the A Frame type, just a single bar below the bumper ) as a do a fair bit of driving across open fields.

With the badge replacment though I'm tempted to remove the "Landrover" "Freelander" & "TD4 XS" lettering and replacing with chrome lettering

I'm just thinking of the bumper protection bar to basically protect the front end when driving in deep ruts ect. My only concern with the one's I've seen tough is do they fix back to the chassie or basically just bolt to the bumper. If they fit back to the bumper I can't see how they can offer much protection.

Personally I like the Landrover badges and markings, especially when in chrome rather than the standard dull grey on a black Freelander. I think if I had a differant colour Freelander I would be tempted to de-badge, but each to their own really.

Removed the side badges this week and replaced with the black and silver ones from ebay which were exactly the same size.

The badge is in a black plastic holder which is held in place by two locating pins and a self adhesive foam tape, this is easy to remove but a Censored to get back on.

Mine didn't seem to go back on correctly and was located the correct way up.

My suggestion to anyone changing the badges is to leave the plastic holder on the car, push a small flat head screwdriver between the badge and plastic holder and work your way around prising the badge out ( this is adhered to the holder and comes out pretty easy ) then stick the new badge inside the holder. This will save you trying to re-attach the holder.

Just looked at your Facelife Mav, looks good. Well impressed with the adapting of the rear end to get the new handle ect to fit.
Did you remove the side pillar badges with the facelift or just the rear badges? I've already removed my side ones and fitted new, The locating pins seemed really difficult to get into place, I'm still not convinced that one side is in properly. If I hadnt removed the badges myself I'd swear they were from a differant motor. Confused

Hi Lee,
I would like to change my badges for black ones but I get the feeling you regret starting this mod Question

Manufan, Don't let my negativity put you off Smile

When I did my mod I removed the badge holder from the Freelander, once off I then removed the badge from the holder, affixed the new black badge inside the holder then struggle to get the holder back into the pillar from where it came.

What I'd reccommend doing is leaving the badge holder on the car and simply inserting a small flat headed screwdriver ( like the ones used for wiring fuse blocks ) in between the badge and holder and prising the badge from the holder. Then simply stick the new badge into place. This would avoid having to re-locate the holder back into the 2 holes. I think it would only take about 2mins per badge to do aswell. Thumbs Up

Holy thread resurrection Batman! Does anyone know of a supplier for the side/C pillar badges in black with silver writing?

Mrs rpaterson is after changing her look and I've found every other badge, just not the side ones! Thanks.
