wynns egr 3 cleaner

As any one out there used wynns egr 3 to clean there egr valve,I have another car thats a bit smokey I removed the pipe to look at the egr valve and it is coated in stickey tar? Just wondering if the spray is better than removing it and cleaning it

I haven't tried the spray but when I had a similar experience on my old FL1 the EGR valve was absolutely caked in the stuff and I doubt that any kind of spray would have touched it - I had to resort to scooping it out with a spoon!
In the end I bought an EGR blanking kit and my fuel consumption improved - not sure if that is an option on the FL2 though... Cheers,
Raz

sorry I should have said my other car is a focus (I need the mpg for work ) As most people on this forum seem to have a lot of experience of all kinds of things I just kind of hoped some one may have used it

How accessible are the egr valves? Might have a look at mine to see if they need cleaning

There is a product called 10k which I know a lot of people used and swore by. Basically you removed the air pipe to the turbo and sprayed the stuff straight into the turbo with the engine running. By all accounts it removed all kinds of muck from the engine and blew it out the exhaust. I seem to remember that LRO reviewed it once with positive outcomes.

I am guessing that the Wynn's stuff will be a similar product and as Wynn's generally make decent stuff there would be no reason it would not do the same but it may be worth checking it is OK to use if you have a DPF. John
