Noisy Turbo Fixed!

Just a post to say that after a year of putting up with head ache from the high pitched noise from my 2011 FL2 SD4 Auto Turbo, its finally repaired!

Thanks to Team Valley Land Rover!

All it took was a part worth £16. F2 Sport LE Firenze Red

Part was a modified seal assembly which is fitted on the bulkhead between the dashboard and the engine compartment.
The high pitched noise from FL2's Turbo is a common fault known by Land Rover.
Some FL2's are worse than others and is due to Diesel Particulate Filter I think, fitted to meet EU emission regulations.
If you phone them direct, they will tell you there is no fix and its a characteristic of the car and put up with it.
In my experience their customer service is poor and communication between dealers and Land Rover Direct is even worse.
Until Land Rover start to deal better with their customers, deal with poor reliability and refinement issues they will loose customers like me.
Many owners tell you about lots of reliability issues.
I have had a rake of cars up to now including BMW's and Audi's and their engine / gearbox refinement is miles ahead.
I don't accept some die hard Land Rover owners response in that its a 'Land Rover' and unreliability is part and parcel of owning one.
When you pay quality cash you expect a quality product with quality customer service.
Not take the money and run!
Until customers vote with there feet, then people like me will buy other makes.
I am lead to believe they are better now than they used to be?
Glad I didn't own one before then!

Bloody Hell, got that of my chest ha ha!
Need a drink now.

At least I can drive my car without thinking I have tinnitus now Shocked

Evoque next LOL! F2 Sport LE Firenze Red

So the whistle is there, alright, but you don't hear anymore because of the better sound insulation... Laughing Laughing
