New owner (hopefully) & forum member

Hi all,

Just thought I'd join up and say hi after finding the site and having a quick nose around.

Not yet an owner, I'm waiting on a low-mileage (~8k) 2010 Alaska White HSE auto that's coming into the dealer's stock, hopefully be arriving this week for me to go and have an initial inspection. Put a reservation/hold on it a fortnight back when it had just been entered on the system, seems like an age ago now Smile

Anyway, assuming that it's all tip-top, that's what I'll be rolling around before too long...! Be sad to see my 03 Golf GT TDI go, but really looking forward to a new driving relationship with my first LR.

I live very much in JLR land, Leamington Spa, with Jag just up the road in Coventry & LR very close by in Gaydon. Also have a good friend who's a manager at Jag, he's responsible for lending me his FL2 for a weekend and convincing me how good they are!

Am also considering doing one of the LR Experience things at Gaydon, so long as I don't find any negative comments when I start trawling these forums more deeply - if anyone has any comments there I'd definitely appreciate it.

Also noticed a bunch of you went to LRE Snowdonia a while back, just looked at their site and it looks like a great day for £50, so I'm thinking that might make a great outing some time over the summer.

Anyhoo, I'll stop rambling there, and look forward to reading more of the back posts, and maybe getting to know some of the folks on here as well...

Regards to all!
- Ash

Okay, I actually picked up the car yesterday - can barely believe it's 2 years old, it's utterly MINT. Whoever the previous owner was, I THANK YOU!

Only got a few miles in bringing it home from Stratford-upon-Avon last night, and had a little more of a run today out to nearby Hilltop Farm (great place for food/drink with views of the countryside) and the Heritage Motor Centre at Gaydon.

So far, I am utterly loving this car - drives beautifully, and feels incredibly luxurious compared to my Golf TDI. Really glad I went for auto as well, although my other half had a go in it this morning and freaked out - never driven an auto, and she panicked on a small sloped junction and wouldn't believe the car simply doesn't roll back when you take your foot off the brake to move to the accelerator! Just needs some quiet practice I think - hopefully she'll come to love it as much as I do, since she has an MX5 and my previous Golf was the 'sensible' car that she often borrowed Smile

Anyway, look forward to a bright future in my LR and to picking up a lot more useful ownership tips on these forums...
