Take it back to the garage ASAP as i guarentee that they knew about this when they sold it to you, wait a week and they will say tough, it wasn't like that when sold. you should have taken it back straight away but now they have a chance of wriggling out of it, they may fix it but I doubt it, sorry I cannot be more help as it could be a dodgy motor, a dodgy switch, trapped wiring under the seat or something jammed in the runners apart from the last one that you can check yourself you would really need an auto electrician.

Yes take it back and explain the problem, they should then fix it. It does sound like a wiring fault, perhaps a damaged cable under the seat.

Was a private sale so unable to return to a garage. The original fuse was in the box when it blewso may be a new fault, not sure the seat was mived much by previous owner. I'll root around under the seat to look for anything obvious, thanks, otherwise its auto electrician time. |

hi. have a similar problem with my drivers seat. worked fine then all of a sudden stopped working and kept blowing the fuse. it only does it when reclining the back rest. auto spark has checked it out and the motor is faulty. one of 3 motors on the drivers seat. only seems to blow fuse when under load. if you help the seat in its movement it doesn't blow the fuse. Been quoted about 100 quid plus fitting to put right. mines a '56' se. |

Thanks, I did a bit of investigation and it appears only to blow when using the lumber support, if thats the case will just not use that anyway. Also the MEM button seems not to work, cannot set any seat settings into the memory, unless I'm doing something wrong. |
