United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 S Manual Zermatt Silver
Fiat 500

Hi guys,

Has anyone got one of these, my Daughter wants one and as I'll end up having to pay for most of it I would like to hear of your experiences

It looks good and will probably hold it's value, but very small though.

My 21 year old niece has just bought a MINI Cooper instead, she just loves it and so pleased she never had the Fiat 500.

I think they look ok, even thought about getting one but had the sarcastic comments from SWMBO why dont you want me driving the Freely, so to keep the peace no answer was given Smile . They were featured on Watchdog a while ago regarding the diesel version and the DPF, (nothing new there Rolling Eyes ) so if it is town travelling go for the petrol.

Bradders on RRSport bought one and the paints faded in some areas/patches so if buying second hand or new it's worth checking

I would have a good test drive with your daughter and then make your/her mind up.

I would imagine they are not that practical with space being limited, but possibly this would not be an issue for your daughter.

why does she want one, is it just the funky looks ? or does she know someone with one ?

Iain

Hi Iain,
She's flown the nest and lives and works in London, where everyone seems to have one. It's the Zero Congestion Charge which appeals, but I think it's overpriced and too small. I want her to have a Kia Picanto, but for some strange reason she doesn't!

Peter, I would imagine it would be ideal for the London area.

maybe not cheap to buy, but cheap to run and the right image as well. ( which does really matter )

my wife has a Toyota IQ2, which likewise is relatively expensive to buy, but incredibly cheap to run, a great looking wee car, brilliant to drive, and I've never regretted buying it !!

personally I would not have any concerns re the Fiat 500 as it sounds as though it may fit the bill for your daughter.

Iain

We test drove the twin air and the, well, whatever the other one was - 1100cc?

They are great, the twin air was a blast. No idea of the fuel economy.

Got back with a smile on our faces.

Reminded me of my Fiat 127 Sport days!
