The headlight dial thingy can be turned 1 click left from auto mode to headlights on or 2 clicks left for sidelights or 3 clicks left for off altogether

Other than using the dial is there any other way? Only asking because on the wife's X5 you can use the I drive to set the headlights to stay on at all times even when in the auto position on the dial. |

Not to my knowledge unless there is a facility if you have upgraded lights as an option such as xenons LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby LOT (Lord of Time) - University of Gallifrey |

If you set the dial to The Headlight setting as The Doctor suggests, they will come on when you start the engine and go off when you stop the engine, why would you need a different way of doing it, the Auto position would not be required as the lights would be on any way |

In the markets that currently have a legal requirement for DRL's LR just set the Dipped Beam to be on all the time but the Side and Tail Lights will also be illuminated but not the Panel Lights. So setting the rotary switch to on will have the same effect basically except the Panel Lights will be lit. |

Tax thanks for the suggestion, having the switch on the lights on position died indeed leave the sidelights on when you switch off. I will speak to the dealers when I come upto first service time.
