United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 HST Auto Stornoway Grey

Hi - chrisdeeming - you don't mention what wheel option you have but I have a problem with one of my 19" Shadow Chromes as fitted to HST models. Finish has pitted next to the wheel centre cap which would put it well out of the way of any kerbing damage etc. Looks like it has been shot blasted with a really rough grit or shot gun?
Never used anything other than normal car wax shampoo to wash wheels and car polish to buff up afterwards. Still under warranty so reported problem to dealer who in turm escalated to LR. Guess what - no interest. Feedback I got from dealer was that someone with a Disco 4 had problems with finish on nearly new wheels and LR dismissed as owner misuse.

Interesting that the Shadow Chromes and I guess other LR alloy rims are supllied from the same manufacturer who supplies, Honda, Skoda and I guess a whole raft of makers. Several years back I had a small bubble appear on one of my Skoda Octavia wheel spokes - reported to dealer and within a couple of weeks a new wheel and tyre had been fitted courtessy of Skoda. I also note a few months back Auto Express had problems with one of the wheels on a test fleet Kia - replaced under warranty no problems it appears.
Are we being over fussy and unreasonable - I think LR hope that their customers in China, India and Russia will be less so.

Scotland 2009 Freelander 2 TD4_e HSE Manual Lago Grey

the alloys on my disco 2 showed signs of the lacquer coming off after about a year.

the dealer replaced them under warranty but the new ones did the same after about a year.

rather than replace them for same again I asked for them to replace with a different style of alloy which they did ( all five alloys ) and had no problems after that.

but I must say at that time both Landrover and the dealer were really helpful. that was 2003/04, sounds as though this helpfullness has now disappeared ?
