Tailgate high level brake light

This may have been covered before but does anyone have any tips about replacing the bulb?
I believe that it involves removing the interior trim panel at the top of the rear window. Tattoos - Why would you choose to look like the wall of a public toilet?

OK, Hah Ha!
I will do a bit of RTFM then!
I had in the back of my mind a glimmer of having read somewhere that it was a tricky job..... Tattoos - Why would you choose to look like the wall of a public toilet?

The plastic "clips" that hold the trim in can get brittle with age and snap. Should this happen they are part no. LLR003015 and cost 68p plus VAT.

Also, on an 07 you may find the gasket round the light unit a bit knackered which would cause the thing to leak when you re-fit it. If so, either fit a new unit (about £20) or if you are a cheapskate like me use some silicone grease (not sealant)....worked for me! John
