United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Sumatra Black
Essex

Right, starting from a couple of days ago, EVERY FL2 ( Well, every Green-Oval) I spot, I am waving at.....

Unfortunatly, just at the moment most of my driving is at night....but if any1 in theEssex area see's a black '57 FL2, Tints, roof-rails & Dodgy-looking tow-bar...waving at you, chances are, its me.

Some Defenders wave back Shocked , RR's just look at me like Im mad Sad (They might be right!). RRS's normally have a little blond bird behind the wheel, who can hardly see over the dash Whistle & Disco's are normally too busy trying to keep the kids quite to see anything out of the front window... Wink

But I'm gonna TRY dammit! Thumbs Up '57 FL2 GS
Sumatra Blk, Tints, Winterpack, Dodgylooking TowBar, roof rails, Front & Rear LED Indicators, Clear Side repeaters(Led), LED Rear Position/Brake lights, Additional Power-point in the boot & Brighter luggage Illumination fitted

Waving at other FL2s

Gave the thumbs up to a lady driver coming the other way (didn't realise it was a she until nearly passed me) and was very gratified to get a similar response, with a big smile. It would appear that the girls like them too!

The thing is - ARE YOU GIVING THE CORRECT WAVE? You may be giving the wrong one (the right hand raised off the steering wheel one) which marks you out as a newbie to Land Rover waving. Old hands wave at each other by just lifting their index finger off the wheel just enough so that it can be seen................................. and flashing headlights is an absolute no-no, that marks you out as having been a Mercedes, Audi or BMW driver in a past existance and having no patience and signalling all other road users to move out of the way and let them through.
Land Rover owners of long standing don't do this "I must hurry everywhere" thing because up to quite recently Land Rovers couldn't go fast enough to overtake other cars - it was only with the advent of the original 3 Door Rangy and then the Disco1 that the marvel of speeds over 50 mph arrived at Land Rover How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?
Now driving - RRE Coupe Dynamic Lux Auto with Plus pack, Fuji White, Ebony, SD4 with tow pack
Gone - 2010MY FFRR TDv8 Stornoway and Ivory, Privacy - the pace of a TDv8 RRS, the incomparable grace of a Range Rover
Gone but will be missed- RRS Tdv8 HSE Stornoway Grey with Ebony Leather
Gone (only a little missed) RRS Tdv6 2.7SE Giverny Green/Aspen
Defender 90 County HT in Epsom Green

I was pulling off the M1 (Garforth, Leeds Turning) the other day when i noticed a Stornoway Grey FL2 with bodykit passing in the outside line in my mirror.

the female passenger was giving my car the once over, (most likely saying how dirty it was) when they went past i waved at them and she gave the biggest wave and grin back.

I must say it felt GOOD to be waved at Very Happy and the wave back Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Well, its a combination of the both...my hand stays on the steering wheel, but often its more than a single finger (But nothing rude!) '57 FL2 GS
