Phoned apple on the off chance they had someone there who knew what they were talking about. Turns out I need to install windows xp service pack 3 or the shuffle won't be recognised by the pc. Will let you know if it works as I'm just doing it now. |

A bit quiet on here any one had thoughts on what they announced, not enough to make me upgrade from my ipad2, pondering on the AppleTVHD now it's 1080p, but my onkyo amp upscales 720 to 1080i anyway, I think I might only do it of I decide to upgrade the conservatory sound/tv system |

All a bit of the same really, the screen size is too small for me to say that HD will be worth it, 4G is a way off and no doubt will be expensive.

Funny I was thinking just that, now if I'd held back with from getting an IPad2 and got the 3 instead, I could use the dicktation function |

In case anyone was waiting with baited breath for the outcome, I have now installed xp service pack 3. Plugged iPod into front USB port and still not working. Decided to check one of the ports at the back of the pc as suggested by a couple of people on here et voila! iPod recognised and installed in iTunes. Now if only I'd tried that to start with |

No, unfortunately not, no idea why, so will just have to use a USB port at the back. Probably would've worked all along in a different USB port without updating windows. |

Does any USB device work in the front sockets? if not then there could be a loose cable as the sockets on the fron are case mounted whereas the rear sockets are usually mounted directly onto the motherboard (sorry if it's too tech speak!!!!)
