Sat Nav freeze

Driving to Chichester today, I found that about half way there the Sat Nav image seemed to freeze. I only managed to correct it by re-entering the destination, then it was fine. Confused

So what was that all about ........ Sat Nav losing connection or a s/w fault? Anyone had a similar experience, or got any ideas? Rolling Eyes

if it lost connection the "GPS" icon in the top left corner would get a red line through it, which you may have not noticed.

But since the Satnav is built in to the car i beleive its also linked to the mileage aswell, as the flashing triangle keeps moving when i enter a tunnel and lose connection.

I diagnose "Software Failure"

I would recomend a inspection of the DVD disc under the drivers seat to see if it is dirty or scratched. By removing this it may also reinstall the maps Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I had a similar problem. While I was driving the car without using the Sat Nav I asked my wife to put the postcode in for our destination. She touched "destination" on the screen and nothing happened. She tried several times and nothing happened. When it was safe I pulled in and stopped the engine (can't remember if I removed the fob) then restarted the engine. The same thing happened. Couldn't enter our destination on the Sat Nav. My wife then went into panic mode when I handed her the map. We continued our journey using the map.
5 minutes after we arrived at our destination I was asked if I could move the car, and guess what now worked when I tried it.
It was a very damp day. Even though the car had been kept in the garage I was wondering if damp had got onto the disc and hence the DVD player under the drivers seat could read it.

Yep

Yep Npinks, that's my hunch too. I'll try doing as you suggest. Thx. Life is not a dress rehearsal!
