IS THIS ANOTHER INSURANCE SCAM?

My wife runs a Corsa and it cost £190 to insure. We are looking around to change the car so I have been ringing my broker(local Swinton branch) for quotes to change. Before I rang I went to Confused.com and the prices for the new car were from £185 to £225.Rang my broker and they wanted £145 extra for the next 10 months cover. When I asked them for the price at next renewal it was £434!!.I have tried this with several cars and they always want a fortune to change knowing that there is a £50 cancellation fee to pay.I think they are using this cancellation fee to make more money for doing nothing.Anyone else having similar problems? Stornaway grey SE auto with 18" alloys

unfortunately I think those fees will have been in their small print and they sometimes tells us too - but we usually have switched off from listening by then Confused

No a scam as such - but a result of the new comparison type switching that goes on - trying to tie you into their insurance fro at least the year. 2002 Honda VFR800
