Oddly, all four of mine wore out simultaneously.

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Stornoway Grey

I'm not sure if this is relevant to the FL2, but I've just been reading an article about FL1 in Landrover owner international. According to their technical adviser, tyres with the greater rolling circumference (ie newer or different makes) should always be fitted to the rear. Apparently failure to do this puts strain on the viscous couplings and support bearings, the propshaft joints and intermediate reduction drive. I'm unsure if the FL2 shares the same drivetrain design as the FL1 but I'd be interested to hear the more technical minded members of the forum's opinion on this. Idea

I've already spoken to Land Rover about this and it's a problem with the FL1 only.

Scotland 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Rimini Red

I'm pretty certain my handbook said the tyres should be rotated .... it's at the stealer now so will need to check. I'd been looking at rotating mine as the drivers front was showing slightly more wear on it's outside edge where as the rears looked fine. I think I'd much rarter get equal wear on all four over the distance and change all 4 at once - one vist to the tyre shop, one payment and upto 25% discount if buying 4 (so, effectivly one free)! 2008 Freelander2 GS TD4
New steering pump and rack fitted 10000 miles (warranty)
Driver's seat started 'dropping' 30000 miles
Rear parking sensors giving continuous tone when raining heavy 35000 miles
Rear parking brake siezed 40000 ... new rear disks and pads (warranty)
Clutch slipping 54,000 ... new clutch ... £800 ! ... (not warranty)
Rear diff bearings replaced at 60,000 and 85,000 (warranty)
New DMF and clutch, rear diff (uprated nose bearing), front and rear disks at 115,000
