Just noticed that my mirrors are different to my dads car...

Both are 2012my

Mines the SD4 where he has the TD4 but my mirrors are very different ! The lens part is 2cm deeper?

Its looks as if hey have put the 2010my mirrors on dads car??? 

two types of door mirror fitted to free landers the hi speck vehicles have a different mirror than lower speck vehicles
i found this out when trying to get some chrome mirror top covers the lower speck mirriors covers are about 40.00 quid the higher speck covers are about 135.00 quid . mine is an xs model i would suspect that if both ur vehicles are the same model then it was what was available at time of build  rainy-city

The ones on mine are different to the 07 plate one I had, on my old one there was a arched visor along the top edge as you looked down on to the mirror, this has gone on the later one, also the older models had covers to fit over the mirrors where as the later models you can pop the covers off the mirror and change them, but the mirrors of the later ones are significantly bigger.

So do high spec models have the clip off part that the top cover replaces rather than covers? Someone mentioned that all MY 10 onwards have these but my 2011 gs is all one part plus there doesnt seem to be many places that sell body coloured covers for the newer models??

Thanks for the replies! Dads is an XS where as mines only a GS? Guess it must be down to the SD4 bit?

Looking at the microcat the mirror part number is the same?
