United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Auto Narvik Black

Sorry - going a bit off topic here!!!

£250 is a good price but when you can get it for a shade over 300 I would always prefere to pay a main dealer... When I went to mine, £400 and something was there opening offer, but I managed to find an indipendant locally who offered LR spec services and my dealer price matched. Plus I got a summer deal on the MOT.

As for servicing out of warranty. they claim that a FLRSH is worth around £500 on the value of the car so if like me the resale value is important then a LR stamp is key. Also, if you do ever get any big problems after warranty, you are more likely to get some sympathy from LR if you maintain the service book.

I guess it all depends on the age of your vehicle and what you intend to do with it. I'm not keeping mine for ever and so its important to me that I can move it on easily once I'm done.

OH and back to topic, mines done 64k now. Auto, no major problems (had a steering rack and pump on warranty due to a blocked resevoir -- reality is nothing actually broke!) just tyres, diesel and service to pay out. Freelander 2 TD4 Auto, SE, Narvik Black, Alpaca full leather, Rear Headrest Entertainment System, 6 CD, 18 HSE Wheels, Privicy tints

If you buy from a dealer it will come with a year's warranty. However I think the LR extended warranty may not be available after 100k miles.
Bear in mind that the 150k mile service is a biggy and will cost.
My recent experience suggests that mileage is not really a problem - it's more age. Electrics and things seem to start going at around the ten year mark.

Hi
Firstly just discovered the private messages so appologies for not replying.
Have just paid a deposit for a 56 SE Man 60K with FLRSH. Got it for a reasonable price.
Drives ok with no diff whine, tried a couple of steep hill starts, no cluch slip. Although i see what you mean about the handbrake.
However when the cluch pedal was completely released there was a slight click that would not be reproduced by dipping the pedal again.
Also no obvious error messages but where are these displayed and do they just come up or is there a hidden menu?
Deliberatley went for the manual because i only tow once a month if that and only about 100miles max.
Thanks for all your replies.

Clutch slip on hill starts not always the problem. Those who have had a problem (not me ... yet) get clutch slip in 5th and 6th gears. It's best to do a test drive at speed if possible. This is because the problem is not the traditional worn clutch, but relates either to flywheel failure or to a seized automatic adjuster.

151K on the clock and still going strong (crosses fingers) Apart from regular servicing no problems - treated it to new discs & pads last month. Still drives like new! Cheers,

Switzerland 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Lago Grey
Just hit 100k :-)

Mine just hit the 100k km last weekend. No major issues aside from the old DPF and reduced performance mode though to be honest I'm putting that down to Censored diesel in the tank. [/img]
