A great choice of new motor, especially after the Megane!

An extended warranty will be around half the price with Warranty Direct, though expect to have to pay for repairs in advance and then have to fight for a pay out Sad

The LR warranty is under £600, but is a lot better, wouldn't touch Warranty Direct, to much small print, I did ask them to quote me a while ago, quoted me around £800, the LR one was over £200 cheaper, then WD called back to ask why I wouldn't take it, they offers to match the LR one, I don't like companies that quote then when you say I can get it cheaper all of a sudden they can knock 20% off.

I had the extended warranty on my Vogue SE 2 years running, many items fixed no quibble. Only one item I did not get satisfaction on was misting on rear lights which was not significant enough to impair safety. The warranty is great for peace of mind and you get Europen wide breakdown cover bundled in where they even come out for flat batteries Thumbs Up 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury Corris Grey

You guys are lucky! LRNA prices their extended warranties closer to $3,500 or even more. I was going to buy one until I heard the price. CAR HISTORY

maybe you guys can keep an eye on me with this purchace of freelander 2 2008 gs auto as i do have problems buying cars which is not very often, it is just in case i miss somthing
seen car but not driven it yet as i work away
left smallish deposit to hold it for me . going today to see it again and to test drive it,
hpi check .i must get v5 chassi serial no.[2 letters and 7 numbers]
v 5 issue date [think its on page 2]
becauase it is a big purchace for us we have decided to get a rac eng report £279 this will be done tomorrow.
phoned rac they have done an hpi check for me but still need above information to gaurantee hpi check.
i will not sign finance paperwork until rac engineers report.
garage has now informed me if i do not go ahead with purchace i will lose deposit
phoned rac for advice and they said that if there is problems with this car after engineers report the garage will have to make good problems under the sale of goods act
just had warranties direct ,warrentwise and this other insurer who gave me legal jargon for 10 mins without taking a breath ,i had to stop him as my brain went into shutdown mode ,i am now getting stressed

I take it that you are not buying from a Landrover dealer ?

even so the garage should give you some type of warranty ?

if you have paid a deposit to hold the car and have an RAC inspection carried out then I don't see why the garage are not happy with this ? have they something to hide ?

I wouldn't get stressed and just stick to your plan.

addian. Dont bother with WD, WW, etc. They will only quote small print when you try to make a claim. There will almost certainly be a dealer warranty to start with - at least 3 months. You can buy a LR warranty once you have the car. It will require a dealer inspection first however. Mine cost about £80.00 if I remember correctly.

I'll second Dunkley201's post, my eldest bought a used Corsa from a dealer with 12 months warranty by WD, a few days later a friend of ours who had bought from the same dealer was having problems with WD, we checked the small print and it stated you had to have a Oil and Filter change every 3 months by a Vat registered garage to keep the warranty valid Evil or Very Mad
