Anyone fitted a Blackue or Roadhawk camera?

Has anyone fitted a Blackvue or Roadhawk camera? If so, can you share some pictures of what it looks like when installed?

Thanks!

Interesting bit of kit. One question though, if you were unfortunate to be involved in an accident that wasn’t your fault and you wanted to use the recording as evidence the recording would show your speed. If like me you very rarely stay within the limit it could work against you. Rolling Eyes

in this instance the best option would be to edit down to just the accident, i assume you would be braking so once your under the speed limit start your edit from that point or you could say you hit the wrong pedal in a panic and speeded up 1995 P38 now dead

I have roadhawks in all my cars, Brilliant bit of kit.
I used a capture as evidence once, and the guy got prosecuted.
I also recently got run off the road by a taxi that was driving too fast and carved me up ( slid by me with wheels locked !) and forced me off the road. I sent the film away to the licencing authority and 3 points were awarded against him ! took 3 months but had a letter confirming prosecution so good enough for me.

Heres how it looks mounted

when i park in a car park i plug into the live auxillary socket so its recording whilst parked ! scary thing is once I caught someone trying the door handles ! & you can hear it on the audio & detect it on the xyz axis graph !

Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated Mr. Green

You msy be able to turn off the camera info but your Freelander is fitted with a rudimentary black box which will record the events immediately before any accident or collision which can then be downloaded by the Dealer.

EVENT DATA RECORDING
Event data recorders are capable of collecting and storing data during a crash or near-crash event. The recorded information may assist in the investigation of such an event. The modules may record information about both the vehicle and the occupants, potentially including such information as:
• How various systems in your vehicle were operating.
• Whether or not the driver and passenger seat belts were buckled.
• How far, if at all, the driver was pressing the accelerator and/or brake pedal.
• How fast the vehicle was travelling.
• Where the driver was positioning the steering wheel.
To access this information special equipment must be connected directly to the recording modules. Land Rover do not access event data recorder information without obtaining consent, unless pursuant to court order or where required by law enforcement, other government authorities or third parties acting with lawful authority. Other parties may seek to access the
information independently of Land Rover.

"had a look at some of the videos but there were no speeds or location showing does this mean this can be turned off?"
there are various setting that can be adjusted. I have found a lot of screen capture recorders don't record the speed info or mapping when copying, but its ok when transferred to disc.
The heated screen in our L/R & Fiesta tends to slow the GPS log on time whereas in both my daughters cars the GPS logs on in seconds.

I don't worry about it recording speed etc, I tend to be very careful after a real big accident few years ago which left me unable to work for two years after being hit by a speeder !

Fitted the Blackvue this morning. Simple to do and easy to download software. Really impressed with the results after taking car for a short test-drive.

I have taken some pictures of unit in place but not able to fathom out why I cannot put them in my gallery. If you would like me to send you them please pm me with your e-mail address.
