pride in cars..

When I bought my new Freelander in January I took the old one into the local car wash place prior to showing it to a car dealer as a part ex for a new Skoda my husband was buying at the same time.
Now the car wash guys are used to my car being dirty, it was used daily round the horse stud and our land drops 500 feet so it off roaded with a vengeance (I love hearing friends squealing in terror as I drove down impossible looking slopes!) but I had never asked them to do a full valet in three years.
They sent me away for the entire day and when I returned to my utter embarrassment there were no less than 7 guys working on it. As I walked over they all struck poses and the boss said he had never seen such a dog hair ingrained boot ...
To cut a long story short it was immaculate and the experience has shamed me into keeping the new car clean, I even bought the boot liner off ebay as advised by the boss there.
I have also discovered there is a car wash where for just £2.60 it washes it clean, so I'm wondering how long it takes before I am no longer bedazzled by it's lollipop redness and shine. This week I flatly refused to squeeze into the bramble hedge so someone could pass, calling out of the window, "So sorry, but it's still new and I can't bear to scratch it!".
To her credit the other driver reversed and even smiled at me, this car just has that effect on people... Very Happy Why have Igot a Firenze Red Freelander? Because I kept losing the silver one in car parks....

Be careful Florence Freelander, because if the cleaning bug bites, it will bite you good and you'll be washing & waxing every weekend Thumbs Up Laughing
