OBEX Nokia 5800

I am trying to connect my daughters 5800 to her '58 FL2 and the phone pairs and connects fine. The problem is I cannot upload her contacts to the bluetooth module, the display says it is copying, but nothing appears. I have checked the Landrover compatability website and it says the 5800 is compatable.

I have updated her phones software to the newest version, but still no luck. The LR site then says the contacts might not download automatically and may need to be done manually by using OBEX transfer ???

Does anyone have any idea what that means and a step by step guide how to do it please ? Thumbs Up

Delete any existing pairings with the vehicle and start from scratch.
If this still fails, which is probable but worth a go, try the following.

Select the contacts, I think you can do multiple ones with your phone and then send them to the Land Rover as business cards, if this isnt working, copy the contacts to the SIM and try sending them again. I am not 100% sure but this may be the OBEX transfer?

Hope this helps, its frustrating when technology misbehaves.

As Taz has mentioned, try sending via business card. I had the same phone up till last summer with the same problem and the business card method worked fine.
It's a good phone for using the FL2's ability for voice control with hands-free calls too. Once paired and with the phone displayed on the radios display, just hold in the green steering wheel 'call' button for 5 seconds "if fitted" then speak the name of the person you want to call.
Really miss that with the HTC!

Thanks guys. I have tried sending business cards and it has worked, although contacts with photo thumbnails attatched to their names would not transfer. Removing the photo thumbnail then sending the business card works.

Strange thing is, I selected one contact to send by business card and about 6 transferred ??

However we have got there eventually Very Happy Thanks for your help.

Now waiting to get D4 bluetooth fitted to my own D3 Shocked Hope it does not give as many hiccups.
