Hi, I am sure it was fun with the young toffs but I am glad to see the success of the Community buyouts, including I think Amhuinnsuidhe. The castle and fishing are still marketed upmarket but the estate gets the benefit. I do object when paying for my fishing to the aristocracy, especially in the Tweed valley where everything seems to belong to Earls, Dukes and Lords....all down to robber barons and cattle thieves....... JT Upgraded to an ex demo, 7 mth old, Rimini Red/Ebony Napoli Auto HSE on 28th Jan 2011, added roof rails, mudflaps and side strips.

We went inverness- wick- john o'groats -thurso- durness- ullapool then back via inverness. The pics are from the cliffs at john o'groats, a jetty 10 miles out of dounreay and then at a beach just before durness. Never been that far north before, was good to see and take in the sights. We done it in two days but have decided to go back to ullapool in the summer for a few days and do more exploring. John o'groats wasnt quite what we expected as it seemed a bit run down. Done the whole trip in one tank of diesel too which was a bonus! |

John OGroats was run down 20 years ago, I used to work at HMS Vulcan, next door to Dounreay, stayed there and Wick, another dismal hole.

true taz, its a pity that the towns and villages are so run down and lacking facilities when the scenery is amazing. Its good to see once but i wont be in a rush to go back north again. At least the west coast doesnt have radioactive warnings on the beaches |

Yes, the beaches are a bit scary, it was difficult working there too, I had an armed guard with me all the time, not for protection, he was there to make sure I didn't press the wrong button and say "oops"

Nice! I'm planning to take my FL2 to Portugal (and maybe southern France) next summer. I would really like to do some off roading to test it out! |
