Side / Pillar Badges

Anyone know how to revove the side / pillar badges on a Freelander 2? I'm planning on removing all of the green and gold badges and replacing them with Black and Silver.

I already have the black and silver badges at the correct size for the pillar but was wondering if the OEM badges are stuck on or are fixed from the inside.

Any Ideas?

I got them from a ebay, search for Item number: eBay Item No. 150755401583

Obviously I haven't fitted them yet but holding them over the original they are the same size.

I'm now looking for a badge for the front and rear, some sellers say that the Supercharged badges off a Range Rover are the exact same size but others say they are not so I'm a bit reluctant to purchase them. I have seen one seller who sells a sticker that you simply put over the existing badge, but that sounds too easy for me! Razz

A LR dealer will sell you the correct new silver type badge. I got them, but can't remember the price off the top of my head. Anyway, I heated up the badges with a hair dryer and eased dental floss around the edges. Pulled on that and they came off no problem. The back one was a devil. The ones on the side and or back might have had a plastic locator pin protruding from them, but they aren't fixed beyond that.

ya know the letters on the back of the van .. in my case GS TD4 .. DO THESE COME OFF THE SAME WAY ?

The letters on the back are held on with an adheseive tape and come off pretty easy. The "T" on TD4 of mine came off with a powerwasher. lol

I think I removed the ones on my Astra by warming it up with a hair dryer and then used fishing line.

I have researched this a bit too.
Apparently you cannot get the same sized black and silver for the FL2. The FL2 uses bigger badges than for FL1 or RR (it is about 1cm different on both front and back in length and half a cm shorter.

Also the standard green and gold badge on the back has two locaing pins. I may buy the RR black and silver and event though they are smaller they may be ok and at least will cover the pin holes

A company called OPELISE on ebay have white and silver, white and gold, blue and silver - apparently as demo versions from a LR supplier who wen bust. I think £30 for the front and back.

You can get RR black and silver (official LR) for £10 on ebay. I haven't seen the side pillar badges in black and silver - but will have a look now - sounds good

As for debadging - 5 minute job. Get fishing line / dental floss and use a sawing motion - honestly takes no time at all and do not need a hairdryer. Very easy

I also used Autoglym tar remover to remover remaining tape.

Have removed front and rear badges and I personally like the look. Pics are on my gallery. Santorini Black 61 FL2 TD4 S Auto, Debadged, Retrofit steering wheel controls, Black side vents with smoked repeaters and chrome bulbs, Black side tubes, Mudflaps front & rear, Black & Silver LR badges front, back & sides

Just seen the side badges on ebay. These are shaped stickers to go over the existing badges - they look like a good compromise as I have not been able to find the actual side badge itself. £10 for the pair. Seller is lrdoc. Santorini Black 61 FL2 TD4 S Auto, Debadged, Retrofit steering wheel controls, Black side vents with smoked repeaters and chrome bulbs, Black side tubes, Mudflaps front & rear, Black & Silver LR badges front, back & sides

nice one, thanks - i appreciate it. Glad that there is a proper option to this.
