My friends new VW is the same. According to the dealer they are the non LED "daylight running lights" mandated by EU law. 2007 TD4 SE Manual Santrini Black |

Mine are very quick to come on, bridges trigger them, then go off pretty quickly thereafter. |

mine also used to be "on" in bright sunshine and would never go off but wouldnt work in the dark. Had loads of bits replaced and they were useless.

Mine work fine except for foggy conditions, when they are fooled into thinking that it's a lovely bright day, when you really should have headlights on as it's foggy as f**k ! ...
