England 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Baltic Blue

Got some Baltic Blue from this company in UK.

www.paints4u.com

Their part no for Stornoway Grey is 7968779

They provided me with an excellent service found the right paint colour by trawling their own records to find a match.

do LR themselves do touch up paint?

My dad had his old Lexus door touched up and that was suppossed to have been done with a perfect match, but stood out like a saw thumb. (larger area though)

Cars at the garage next tuesday, might ask there first, as i wouldn't be doing it before then, as i might as well let them wash, clean and hoover it for me. Thumbs Up then do the touch up when i get home if they have one in stock Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Scotland 2012 Freelander 2 SD4 Dynamic Auto Indus Silver

I got the silver touch-up paint from my local dealer last september or so. they should have the grey also. you might need to wait a few days for them to get it in though if they don't have it in stock. Out with the old (2007 SE)
In with the new (2012 Dynamic with everything). Now also gone.

I bought a LR touch-up kit in Stornoway Grey from my dealer. It consists of two tubes, one of the colour and one of clear lacquer.

If my nuts were going rusty I would expect them to be replaced under warranty, as not fit for purpose. Why should the locking nuts rust when the wheel nuts do not?

If you wanted to spray them, it would be cheaper to buy an aerosol of clear lacquer, remove the locking nuts and spray them on the kitchen table/bench! The touch-up tubes are quite small.

I can't remember the exact cost, my next door neighbour paid - for reversing his van into my front bumper!
The cost including a new front number plate was £18 so somewhere around £6 or £7 I guess.

I'm with John Boy on this one.

As soon as the locking nuts start going I'll ask for new ones under warranty.

I dont stand a chance but hey ho...

The exhaust pipe is already spotting with rust after 15 weeks. May ask for a new one at the same time... Rolling Eyes

Scotster - my FL2 is just over a year old now and my locking nuts are still that dull 'goldish' colour, but no rust. No rust on the exhaust either!

We shouldn't expect a car costing upwards of £20000 to start rotting for a year or two, should we.

I would just make a cardboard masking pate with a wheelnut sized hole in it and blast the locking nuts with lacquer. While knowing the dealer should replace the nuts if they get corroded, sometimes prevention is easier than cure, I'm sure I have lacquer tin or two in the garage from previous cars

ps. try spelling lacquer when you've just walked home from the pub! or even saying it! Neutral
