M+S Tyres

I am looking to change my Freelander for a MY12 later this year, I am also considering purchasing the 19inch wheels but to do so i want to be sure that they are equipped with M+S Tyres, having spoken with the dealer, he states thet if you require M+S tyres then stick with the standard 18inch wheel as he cannot confirm what type of tyre is on the 19inch wheel. As i live and work in Germany the requirement is to have M+S Tyres during the Winter, therfore I do not want to have to purchase another set of tyres for the winter. If anyone can provide the tyre thay have received recently on 19inch wheels it would be greatly appreciated.

Tony

The Contis are rated as M&S but I don't rate them for winter use though.

Sorry to ask, but why would you put 19" wheels on a Land Rover in the first place?

Huge wheels have their place, but on a Land Rover? Why compromise the very best aspects of the car (the ride, the huge off road capability and its near complete immunity to pot holes and curbs) to make it look like a road car?

United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Biscay Blue

Went to the LR Experience at Rockingham yesterday and drove the D4 which had standard Goodyear Wranglers fitted. It was very slippery and muddy but these tyres performed very well indeed, so worth consideration. 2010 HSE TD4 auto, Biscay Blue, Almond Leather, facelift front and rear, detachable towbar, front & rear mudflaps, bib spoilers, clear high level brake light, smooth rear wiper, colour coded door handles.

They are M+S rated on a percentage something like 30% off road and 70% on, so not true M+S just slightly but mainly for normal road use.

They will be good quality if they are marks and Spencer's tyres. Are they near the socks? Will have to look next time I'm in m&s. Laughing

United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Rimini Red

M&S tyres are not winter tyres, I think its a marketing invention!. Depending on your local climate in your part of Germany they might or might not be enough for your conditions. I would not look for them as a shortcut to avoid what is really needed, if this is true winter tyres.... JT Upgraded to an ex demo, 7 mth old, Rimini Red/Ebony Napoli Auto HSE on 28th Jan 2011, added roof rails, mudflaps and side strips.
Gone - A great 57 Plate, Auto SE, Bought Feb 2009, Roof Rails and Mudflaps added on purchase. Blue colour, anything but drug dealer black.....
