Mine was registered on 1 March 07. It has never had a starting delay as far as I recall. It doesn't get cold here in London, but it's always started OK on the continent, where the nights can get much colder (eg buried in a snowdrift last Christmas in Belgium!)

The first one I had was an 07 and that would give the "cranking will start" message on the real cold mornings during the winter, the later one seems to do it on less colder mornings, sometimes a second or so sometimes may five seconds before cranking.

I have never had a message on mine. I spoke to my dealer today and they gave me a price of £227 inc VAT and parts to change the four glow plugs.

Think I will get them done. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........
