England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Auto Baltic Blue
Hunters Derby

Spent part of the afternoon at Hunters having a winter health check, I normally stay well clear of such things but this one came with a free half day Land Rover Experience voucher, I was going to do an off road course anyway which would cost the thick end of £200 so thought it was a bargain at £70 including another job that needed doing. Gone, 2007 TD4 SE Auto Baltic blue, clear side repeaters, full sized alloy spare.

English by birth..... Yorkshire by the grace of God.

Just had my first service at Hunters Preston.
61 plate TD4 XS courtesy car waiting which they came out too and cleared the ice off the windows. My car washed n
vac'd. Everything explained thoroughly and a detailed service report left with stamped
service record. Never had that from Merc dealer.
I feel they are trying very hard, can't fault them Thumbs Up

I won’t go into detail, too long, too boring, but I had two services that were unbelievably bad.

I agree with LRCRAZY I had a paint issue on my last disco (appears to be a common fault) the woman at Hunters said it was because I did not wash the car, funny that because it is normaly the cleanest on the street,Even landrover customer services stuck two fingers up

I know exactly what you mean. Windsors of Mansfield Notts were the best LR dealer within striking distance of Derbyshire (the Derbyshire gang of Kennings and Mann Edgerton were a pile of sheep sh*te) and my owd man travel over to Windsors and bought all his LR's from old man Windsor. Never had to ask twice about "is it covered by the warranty" etc.. Then came the BMW ownership days and they asked the old man to spend his pension money on upgrading the showroom. No Mr Windsor said - and he lost the franchise to a corporate.

LR's loss of an experience, highly committed, customer focused team that was there for LR through it's darkest years, to be replaced only by fair weather folks focused on shifting metal and extracting the last shilling on the invoice.

But back to Derbyshire. Now that Kennings have gone, their replacement from what I've heard, re comments n experiences from friends, relatives and neighbours, is that Hunters are as inconsistent and cavalier as the their franchise predecessors.

The only issue I've had with Hunters is that every job takes longer to complete than the original estimate, will have a loan car next time, the only reason I took the car there was to get the free LRE voucher, Yorkshiremen know how to spot a bargain.
I agree that manufacturers appear to be shooting themselves in the foot by taking the franchise away from local family businesses and giving it to useless corporate outfits, Subaru are as guilty of this as anyone. Gone, 2007 TD4 SE Auto Baltic blue, clear side repeaters, full sized alloy spare.

United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Biscay Blue

My experience of Hunters at Derby has been nothing short of excellent. They very quickly and efficiently dealt with a warranty issue even though the car had been purchased from their Kings Lynn dealership. When I took it in for the work I also mentioned a problem with the handbrake which, again, they dealt with quickly and efficiently the same day. 2010 HSE TD4 auto, Biscay Blue, Almond Leather, facelift front and rear, detachable towbar, front & rear mudflaps, bib spoilers, clear high level brake light, smooth rear wiper, colour coded door handles.

Previous Land Rovers:
2007 Freelander 2 HSE i6 in Stornoway Grey
1991 Discovery 200tdi 3 door in blue
