United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 S Manual Stornoway Grey
Glowplug Manufacturer

Hi All
Now the the ambient temperature has dropped around the -10C mark, I am getting the starting problems others have reported in other threads here. Big Cry

Can anyone recommend a manufacturer of glowplug as there appears to be at least 2: NGK and DENSO?
Anyone know which is the OEM used by LR?
Is the LR OEM glowplug necessarily better than the other?
Any thoughts on the subject would be appreciated.

Also, looking at the instructions for changing them on here, I see the inlet manifold needs removing Thud (it is so much easier on my 300tdi)
Anyone know what its part number is and is there any other gaskets that'll need replacing?

Thanks in advance Thumbs Up
Cheers
Ade

Thanks, I had a look at your gallery and saw them.
Could you get them out with the inlet manifold like it is in the pictures or do you have to remove it totally from the engine bay?

Not looking forward to it but I just don't trust anyone else to do it.
The previous owner of my 300tdi managed to cross thread one of my glow plugs.
God knows how but I can't change it otherwise I would have to re-coil the thread in the head.
