United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Sumatra Black

mine has done around 4700miles and went into reduced engine performance mode last night just as I was leaving work. Got home phoned up LRA and they said their guy couldn't come out till 9:30 the next day or I could have an AA guy within the hour. Can't fault them really, they texted me around 19:05 saying the guy was due at 19:00, the AA guy phoned saying he would be there before half past. Plugged in his tablet, and found (P244A / P244A+) error codes. Wiped them, took it down the road and came back saying the message has gone and had started it up multiple times and was okay. The AA guy said LRA technicians stop at 8pm.

Can't believe how many people are getting this happening. Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual MY11 - 61REG Stratstone Mayfair

I think clearing the code just masks the problem? Mine had exactly that and they changed the sensor?

Got mine back yesterday running fine Smile Lookers Stortford excellent service as always. Thumbs Up

my freelander gave same symptoms as yours same fault and code aa managed to re set my code and got me on my way with advice to contact dealer asap witch i did dealer put new sensors in dpf system and up graded software now done 19000 miles no dpf problem it will help if you take the vehicle on a run and keep the rpm above 2,000 for approx 20/30 mins to help maintain thr dpf if you have not got the leaflet put out about maintaining the dpf contact you dealer for a copy Thumbs Up as for rejecting the car its not a simple task with just one fault showing early i had a turbo problem with mine and this problem lasted for 6 mths and i was going through the rejection process i think that you will have to give the car a reasonable period of time to see if the same fault re occured if it did re occure say 5 or six times i would then say you might have grounds for rejection under goods not fit for purpose!! iam sure if you keep to the maintainance of the dpf you will be ok ,give it a chance it may just not have been set right at build, hope this helps i know how you feel ive been there Thumbs Up Thumbs Up rainy-city
