Anyway, if they can view the entire CCF, then Block 2, Byte 211, contains the battery type.

Fair point! I am thinking about changing my battery before it dies completely and not wishing to hi-jack this thread does anyone have any recommendations? I am wavering between a Bosch Silver HSB 110 and a Varta F21 AGM. Both are 800cca and 80 ah.

Hi John does the 110 size fit straight in ?, i'm on the verge of doing the same but a few of the online lookup tables come up with the shorter ( and lower rated) 096 size ? 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

France 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Narvik Black

Martyn,
I saw that so went and measured my battery. Lo and behold it is 315mm long so there is room. It is 190 high and 175 wide. It is also an 80ah one whereas the 096 batteries tend to be 77ah or less.
I think that if you put in a 2011 FL2 into the battery search engines of the online firms they come up with the 110. My battery is the original which is an Exide so I have now come across this one which is now in the frame for me.

It is 85ah and 800CCA. John

Cheers John, I'm happy with that then , I'll spend tomorrow lunchtime sorting something out around £100 is not bad for a battery with a bit more clout and a decent guarantee 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

Martyn,

Got mine to-day and fitted it. As you can see, the 110 fits perfectly.

Brilliant John , Thanks, I'm going to get an Exide or Varta Silver , depending on the best overall delivered price, I've been too busy today to sort it out. My Mrs kills batteries because she never uses the car, I've taken it to work this week just to get a decent run in it. 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

At the risk of being repetitive, - and it fitted without any problems ? the spec on that battery is 353 mm so 38mm longer than the battery in John's picture I know I could go measure the space but why get my hands mucky if you've already done the job Laughing 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership
