My Chip Tuning project

Hello everyone!

I have tried to find information on Freelander 2 chip tuning. But I couldnt find much information. My 2008 FL2 just run out of warranty, so i figured, what the heck, Iīll try it myself!

I have now ordered a tuning chip from *******. Delivery time is 2-3 days. Installation should be a no brainer, appx. 30mins. Product specs promises power upgrade from 160hp to 215hp (that seems a lot!). Funny enough, they donīt mention the exact troque increase, but it is around 40%.

Chip costs 99 eur. I also ordered a remote switch for 49 eur. Tax and delivery included (from Italy to Finland).

I chose this chip because it was cheap. I can try it and just toss it away if it doesn't seem to work or if some other problems appear. I don't know about this manufacturers reliability. But the chip box has racing flags and a burning chip on it so you do the math Laughing ..

It says on their webpage that:
"Our company is specialized for years in the design and production of additional units for diesel cars, designed to give more power and at the same time consuming less.

Our products are made with the latest technology and highest standards of quality. The result of this process are the additional units of excellence, appreciated by all our customers and exported all over the world."

Who knows.. on the other hand itīs very hard to trust any other manufacturer as well.

I am planing to do a video diary on this project and put it on youtube for everyone to see:
Installing the device and "before and after shots" and later on experiences.

Links:

I hope to recieve the device soon so I can keep you updated.

Cheers!

Ok I get your point. Although I think itīs important information for the others to know exactly what product I am talking about. So they know what product to buy/ avoid if they are planning to install one them selves..

I have no intention to advertise anything.. Just to put the facts on the table with this example case.

This chip tuning project didn't go too well. The plugins didn't fit! They were wrong type.
It would take a car electrician to get it fitted. This chip box was sold as "custom fit" for my car. Well it wasn't.
I don't think I dare to get it installed at all. There are no guarantees that it wouldn't cause any harm.

Well it was cheap but still -money not well spent..

is this a case where the MOD (npinks) would allow the company to be named so we can avoid them in the future? or just forget about it.

I think most people tend to take their FL2 to a chipping place and they do a custom remap for the vehicle - they seem to get good results that way. 2002 Honda VFR800

For those prices, you can't expect much and I would imagine it to be basic overboost and increase injection full stop.
