I am a new owner of a LR2 GS and new to the forum.
Can anyone advise how to get to the adjustment lever to change the beam pattern for driving on the right, that's if it exist's on all models.

I think it is only on the HSE you can adjust the headlights for right hand side driving. (Maybe some body else knows different).
I am off to France next summer and in my SE. I think I'll have to get some beam deflectors probably from Halfords.
I wonder what others FL2 owners have done.

When I drove in Europe last summer I didnt get the xenons on my Audi A3 altered at all, I simply avoided driving at night! But as the wine is plentiful over there I wasnt in a fit state to do any night driving

I was wondering about this myself.
Took mine over to France on a day trip and the weather was foul. Therefore had to use the lights during the day, and had several french people in their funny little cars flash me up. Wasn't even on main beam either!

I will see if the Landrover dealership can help with beam benders

Last year I was told that drivers coming of the ferry at Calais, without beam benders, got pulled in and given an on spot fine.

We visit France for a few months so it is essential I have something to stop dazzling others at night.
Beam benders tend to drop off after a month or so and black tape leaves a mess on the plastic covers.

We have an HSE with halogen, and prior to going to France last year, the local dealer gave us a sheet of paper printed in Polish or Czech giving the exact area on each lens which had to be covered up with isulating tape. This worked fine, except that you need white spirit to get the adhesive off the lens when you remove the tape.
All dealers should have this info.

Page 73 in the owners manual desribes the method to move a lever to adjust the headlights beam for continental driving but looking at the pictures it appears that this is only available on the Bi-xenon healamp units, and even then you have to remove the unit from the car to do it.

I guess those of us with halogen headlights are stuck with using the blanking strips  ______________________

I too drive in france a lot and I was amazed when I found out that LR have not fitted lights you can switch

This is basic technology that has been around years - I had it on an 03 MG TF, (and that was pretty basic) and my 06 Jag X Type, (which is pretty dated) - come on LR. This is supposed to be a car for the future

Outer Lens cleaner/position of insulating tape

My Land Rover dealer gave me a complementary can of Land Rover Brake Cleaner to use to remove the sticky residue from the lens - have used it many time on the FL1 and FL2. I was very cautious to start with, expecting the plastic to melt, but no it works perfectly, so much easier than using WD40, the normal way to remove residue.

Last September I drove around France for the month towing a caravan. Never had any flashes from other drivers , even when driving through tunnels.

All I had done was make sure the headlamp levelling control wheel was adjusted, and had a small amount of black tape on the dipped main beams.

Looking at the outer lens there is a very small circle marked. Starting from this, stick a 2cm high piece of electrical insulating tape out towards the edge of each wing. Also allow the tape to extend about 2 cm inwards as well. Make the base of the tape be on the little circle.

That is it. It is not how one would expect the tape to be placed. It looks as though someone has stuck it almost back to front - but it works (driving on the continent about 22k miles with the FL1 and 3k with the FL2 miles so far).

Just been out to the FL2 and it took me a while to find the tiny spot on the wet headlamps but I found it.
Will try black tape as you describe unless the dealer comes up with another solution.

It's strange that you never see French cars with beam benders or tape in the UK!
